But before we dive into that…

Let’s talk about how the heck he was able to generate so many interested prospects using just cold emails.

Here’s the step-by-step breakdown of how he did it...

First, he set up 30 inboxes to send cold emails.

(Not blasting emails from one single inbox, which makes you a spammer.)

Second, he warmed up those inboxes for 2 weeks to build credibility and ensure the emails landed in the inbox, not the spam folder.

Third, he focused more of his time on strategy:

  • Building lead lists in unique ways that no other salesperson would even think about.

  • Validating those emails to keep bounce rates low.

  • Creating irresistible lead magnets to capture attention because his industry was saturated, and direct meeting bookings weren’t working anymore.

  • Testing messaging and then scaling what worked.

Fourth, he started low volume in the first week, testing messages and ensuring email deliverability was on point.

Fifth, once he figured out which messaging worked and which didn’t, he scaled the messaging that generated positive responses and sparked interest.

Next, he replied to the interested prospects with the lead magnet and asked them if they'd like to see how his product could solve a specific problem they were facing in their business.

By doing this, he was booking around 4-5 sales meetings every month.

The rest of the meetings were booked using a forgotten skill.

It's our old friend in sales: Follow Up.

Here’s the thing…

Prospects are busy. They forget.

On top of that, you’ve got your competitors reaching out to them.

Making sure your emails stay in front of your prospect’s eyes is key in today’s competitive sales world.

And that’s a big part of the new era of sales.

Then, he put his manual effort into following up with these interested prospects.

He used automated follow-up emails for those who weren’t responding.

But for the interested prospects, he personalized messages and kept the conversation flowing.

We call this “connecting with people and building relationships, even in a short amount of time,” and it's all about building that pipeline for the long run.

I hate to say it…

But these are the old-school sales strategies that used to work.

And they still works.

Because these are human nature.

But, today's sales generation just wants instant gratification.

They've forgotten the true meaning of being a salesperson.

Which is to build relationships while selling.

So that, you're making a living right now, and farming for the future as well.

Anyways, now let's talk about why the other company failed to book more than 2-3 sales meetings per month.

Now, he did everything for the other B2B SaaS company that we just learned.

Except one thing…

The Follow-Up.

For this second company, he left the follow-up in the hands of their salespeople.

And guess what?

They dropped the ball.

They didn’t follow up with the interested prospects.

Heck, they didn’t even bother to send the lead magnets to the interested prospects.

They acted like they were the sons of kings.

Born with golden spoons in their mouths, expecting meetings to magically appear in their calendars.
