Stop Wasting YOUR time with Cold Email
...and start printing money with it.
Hi, Patrick here. I had a sales call the other day with a Founder.
He was looking to shift away from referral based customer acquisition to adding outbound, cold email specifically.
This is a pretty typical scenario for us.
And after thinking about it I realized a couple of things that many scrappy, price conscious Founders get wrong…
→ They think the hard costs for cold email is close to $0 to acquire customers
→ They think the soft costs for cold email is close to $0 to acquire customers
This is fundamentally incorrect.
While cold email does have cost savings, it still costs real money to run.
An average “sequencer” might be listed at dirt cheap prices, but…
→ What’s the time value to learn it?
→ What are the “all in” hard costs to run it?
→ What are the “all in” soft costs to run it?
→ What are the opportunity costs for a learning curve?
Every channel has these costs. There’s no magic bullet.
Cold email is no different.
Take for example Meta ads, which are much more expensive.
You have to:
→ Spend days, weeks, months, and even years to figure them out.
→ Set reasonable daily budgets to run them
→ Pay for things like landing pages, marketing automation, tracking, data connections, etc
→ Shift focus from other areas of the business to figure it out
Yet, many founders see cheap cold email tools, but fail to think about:
→ The time it takes to learn it initially
→ Sequencer, Lead Data, Inbox, and other tool costs
→ The time is takes to keep it running (lists, campaigns, inbox management)
→ The opportunity cost while struggling to figure out a new channel.
If you can’t stomach the costs, don’t waste your time!
