#18 "Good Enough" always leads to failure

The razor-thin line between soaring high and falling hard.

“There’s nothing more sales can’t cure”

You might be furious after reading this email, so read it at your own risk.

Here's why 👇

Recently, I received two weird emails one from a sales rep, the other from a business owner.

The emails weren't weird but the timing was!

This is what the sales person said...

"Hey Patrick, I didn't hit my goal of making $100k last year. Every year, I set the same goal. No matter how much outreach I do I can't book enough sales meetings.  And, to be honest I've been depressed about it until I found your content. Can you help me get to $100k?"

So, what do you think I did?

Well frankly, initially I totally ignored it (got busy).

But, everything changed 2 hours later when something strange happened 👇

I received another email from a client after 6 months.

They said:

"Patrick, I made $1.4M in 4 months using Uptics and your strategies. Thanks you for all that you do!"

Now, here's the reality.

They both might have spent years doing sales & outreach.

But, what made both of them different?

What was the secret that my client made $1.4M in 4 months?

Well, after receiving the 2nd email, it made me think 🤔...

There are a lot of business owners, founders, and sales people who move heaven & earth to achieve their goals...

But, for some mysterious reason, no matter how hard they work they can't hit them.

→ Sometimes, you are stopped by the outreach gods (market conditions).

→ Sometimes, you are cursed by your tools (wasting time).

→ Or sometimes, you don't know how to get prospects to beg you to book a meeting with you.

(well, begging is not the right word, but I hope you get the point.)

Either way, all 3 things matter when it comes to hitting your sales goals.

And, you know better than me that if you hit your goals you will be happier.

Won't you?

But the problem is, most people are too busy to do things great

Keyword: Great.

Not just "good enough", but GREAT.

A big difference between the two isn't there?

There's a time for "good enough" and a time to strive for "perfecting".

This is that razor thin line between success and failure we all face.

But eventually that line needs to be crossed to do GREAT things.

But success is a paradox isn’t it?

Most successful people are those who’ve tasted failure. Repeatedly.

And they understand that failure is not the opposite of success…it’s part of it.

Failure is a powerful teacher.

Getting back up is what matters most.

The people who never do GREAT things do this one thing that is plaguing them:

They focus on DISTRACTIONS.

Instead of focusing on INTENTIONS.

This brings us back to that razor thin line.

What distractions have you been focused on that are blocking you from doing things GREAT instead of just “good enough”?

I’ll leave you with that thought for today.

In my next email, I'll share with you the things that have distracted me in the past and blocked me from getting to where I wanted to go.

Till next week,

Patrick Spielmann
